
Alcohol binges or binge drinking alcohol refers to drinking too much of alcohol on one single occasion. It also could mean drinking continuously for a number of days or weeks. Drinking more than four standard glasses of alcohol a day is categorized as binge drinking alcohol. There are various reasons for this type of behavior and it could lead to severe health risks such as hangovers, nausea, shakiness, vomiting, memory loss and alcohol poisoning. It also could result in various adverse social situations and injury to the affected person.
People drink alcohol for various reasons and social scientists have categorized alcohol drinkers into nine categories according to their drinking patterns.
1. De-stress Drinkers - These are the people who drink alcohol in excess, in order to relieve stress and calm their nerves down. Middle class men and women fall under this category.
2. The Conformist Drinker - These people drink in order to belong to a certain class or social level in life. Middle aged people employed in the clerical and manual job field are mostly coming under this group.
3. Depressed Drinkers - These people would belong to any age group and social status. They want to feel better by drinking.
4. Boredom Drinking - People who drink, in order to relieve loneliness and boredom in life.
5. Community Drinkers - Lower middle class men and women belong to this group and they drink with large friendship groups in order to belong to the group.
6. Re-Bonding Drinkers - These people drink to keep in touch with their close relations.
7. Macho Drinkers - These people are men of all ages who want to show-off. They are always in the pub.
8. Hedonistic Drinkers - Divorced, middle aged people who want to feel comfortable, belongs to this group.
9. Border Dependent Drinkers - They are always in the pub. There is no special time for them. They would be drinking in the morning, evening and even the night.
